Ian has been working full time as a senior consultant providing expertise across a range of industries with regards to earthing and lightning protection system design, testing and analysis. Ian is based in the Safearth Perth Office and is the Regional Manager for a number of consultants servicing the power utilities, oil and gas, heavy industry, water, and telecommunications sectors, as well as the mining and mineral industries.
Ian began his career as an electrician where he worked on several industrial sites conducting installation, calibration, and maintenance tasks. He then transitioned to an engineering and consultancy role to progress his career and professional development and over the next 13 years gained extensive experience in earthing system design, analysis, and testing.
Ianโs previous industrial trade background and continual electrical based work provide the Safearth team with many years of site work experience and knowledge. This assists in him being able to develop and implement site testing and assessment improvements where they are needed to increase testing efficiency and value.
