Since 1992 Darren has been full time in the discipline of earthing providing consulting expertise to a range of key infrastructure projects in the minerals and energy sectors. Now a Principal Engineer, Darren is responsible for coordinating the training services provided by Safearth to all industry sectors including power utilities oil and gas, heavy industry, water and telecommunications sectors.
Darren graduated with BE (Elec)(Hons I) in 1993, BMaths in 1994 and a Doctorate in Philosophy in 2003 from Newcastle University. Darren began his career at Shortland Electricity as a cadet engineer in 1988 and over the next 23 years gained power utility experience in project management, primary and secondary design, network security, field services and earthing.
